How AI Is Reshaping the Architectural Workflow

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the architectural workflow, bringing new levels of speed, accuracy, and strategic insight to every phase of a project. At Frame Architecture, we’re integrating these tools to help clients make informed decisions sooner and move projects forward with greater confidence.

Principal Architect, AIA NCARB

Experience Meets Innovation

With over 36 years of architectural experience, Principal Jeff Frame has led public and private projects across the Mountain West. His deep understanding of program requirements, budgets, and client goals has resulted in a portfolio of consistently successful projects throughout Nevada. As the industry evolves, Jeff continues to implement new technology that drives clarity and efficiency.

AI‑Driven Site Planning

Early feasibility is one of the most critical and costly phases of development. AI powered site planning tools now allow architects and developers to generate many viable test fit in hours rather than weeks. These tools can factor in things such as zoning, density, setbacks, parking, unit mix, and yield, giving teams a clearer picture of what’s possible long before traditional modeling would be complete.

Using AI as a tool to bring clarity, speed, and smarter development to every test fit.

Enhanced BIM & Design Optimization

AI extensions to BIM platforms like Revit are transforming how design teams coordinate and refine projects. Time consuming tasks can now be automated including, Clash detection, Early cost forecasting, Energy and carbon modeling and Constructability to get clients information that wouldn't have been easily accessed earlier in the project.

AI‑Assisted 3D LiDAR Scanning

Traditional hand‑measured drawings are responsible for a surprising number of change orders, TI overruns, construction conflicts, and missed rentable area. AI‑enhanced LiDAR scanning captures millions of laser points to document true, millimeter‑level as‑built conditions. AI then converts that raw data into intelligent architectural models dramatically reducing uncertainty and unlocking more precise planning.

Understanding WHY a Site Doesn’t Pencil

One of AI’s most powerful contributions

is its ability to explain why a site may not be financially viable not just that it isn’t.

AI helps answer critical feasibility questions early, such as:

•      How much rentable square footage survives?

•      Will structural or ADA upgrades kill ROI?

•      Is demolition cheaper than retrofit?

•      Does a tenant’s program actually fit?

By surfacing these insights upfront, teams can make informed decisions before committing significant resources.
